Hello All!
I don't have a working reverse:

1) Pulled lower unit apart and while on the workbench, I was able to turn the linkage rod manually from Forward/Nuetral/Reverse and in all gears felt the prop shaft- solid in both forward and reverse.

2) After re-assembly, I physically turned the prop with my hand in both forward/reverse- forwrd: definitely in gear( solid) reverse: felt the prop "catch" then slip. At this point im not sure if I need to search out my problem in the transmission- down by the prop...or if my problem may lie up by the shifter.

Any ideas ?????

Jason

Re: Reverse-- Slipping

At first thought it sounds like your propeller may have spun the rubber hub. Does it power up in forward OK when running on the water? Could also be the clutch dog not holding in gear. Tear the lower unit down and inspect the gears. You will need a Manual for this and a few special tools.
