I have a RH, {yes a reverse rotation, clockwise from back of flywheel} 351w in my 74 Mastercraft Ski boat. Can i use a standard oil pump or is there a reverse rotation oil pump?
um, if the crank rotates backwards...then how does the camshaft, distributor, and oil pump not rotate in backwards as well? some goofy big looping type of timing chain?
here's a question related to the OP post. does the ford reverse rotation engine ONLY use the timing gear setup or can it use the timing gear setup OR the timing chain setup as shown in this picture?
such as, should he pull the timing cover first to know which set he'd need to find?
I wonder what these timing gears look like? you can get gears for auto applications but they still retain the standard timing rotation. consists of 4 gears.
man I'm curious....to google I go! hi-ho silverware!!
edit: I love learning new things!
makes perfect sense now that I see it with my own eyes.
