Reverse gear in a plane

Hello friend of mine got scared on the shallow water and put gear into reverse while cruising at around 25 to 30 mph , Engine got stalled bad when putting in the neutral Again the engine works and get a shifting everything looks good but what could have happened? Alpha 2

Yes sir , Put to neutral After That and it runs as before

Lucky it's an Alpha. We have had many a customer do that with a Bravo and the clutch becomes "stuck" locking the drive in reverse. The neutral safety will keep the engine from restarting and for the average boater, the day ends with a tow.

You might suggest he invests in a gear lube oil change kit just to be on the safe side, but probably not much damage done if he's up and running properly now.
