seats are getting ratty.Im wondering if anyone has redone there old seats. It looks like a whole new setup is around $200 including the box underneath.Seems cheap.Any reason why I should redo the old ones..Do the new seats hold up? Is there a reason why there $200..As in there crap and will rip/fall apart when I put my knee on the driver seat?

Depending on what you have now, a lot of the new seats are better than the originals - no wood.

Mine have a wood box with carpet over them.So I guess i'll get new ones.I didn't even think of that.My concern was the vinyl and stiching quality..kind of like OEM vs aftermarket

I put some wise back to backs in an old bayliner years ago, and they were nicer in every way than the 80's originals. I did not use the new bases, just the seats since my bases were glassed in.

Where do you find these new back to back seats? My seats have seen better days and I would be interested in possibly replacing them at that price point.

Pretty much anywhere. Wise and Attwood are the ones you will find most often. Shop around, the prices vary wildly depending on where you get them.

You can buy the new ones cheaper than you can get a decent upholstery job.
