OK from scratch: I have a 150 Merc Black Max (82-84) SN 6009047 that came with the arm on the transom with two hydraulic lines coming up over the top of transom (SN 79610A1); I recently bought a trim pump (SN 88183A11) and the wiring colors do not match up. From the trim pump I have a Positive and negative cable (get those out of way); in the wire sleeve I have a thin blue, thick green, thin purple and thick red; now from the motor wire harness I have a thin blue, thin green, thin tan, and thin blue; Now what I have accomplished so far is that when I connect the blue and blue I get clicking in the up relay and connecting green to green I get clicks on the down relay. Question 1 why is it clicking and not trimming up or down; Question two what are the extra wires? (pump: thin purple, thick red and motor: thin tan and thin brown). Thanks for taking the time to read this all I'm trying to get all details out of the way!
