I want to upgrade my old Jabsco manual pump head to an electric model in my Doral 270SC. I have not yet decided what make or model but I am trying to figure out the wiring issues first. Should i pull the 12v power from the battery area in the engine compartment or the panel in the cabin, assuming there is an accessory circuit available? I also believe wherever it comes from, the load in these heads is pretty high requiring at least a 14 gauge wire (maybe 12) and probably a 25 amp breaker. I appreciate any help in advance.

You can pull it from the battery directly, as long as you fuse the positive lead within a foot of the battery. I like everything behind an isolation switch. I'd run the circuit from the 12v fuse block. That is how everything else from the factory is wired. I wired a power switch for the head IN the head as well.
