Not to be a naysayer, but a "shade" like that would not fit my requirements.
We boated in the sun for many years. Then, after our firstborn the wife found out she could not sit in the sun anymore. Years later and when basil cell took over it became more mandatory.
We boated with convertible tops for years and years. No problem. In the last 5 years we changed boats and went to a bimini. Problem.
Our routine is to anchor for a part of the day. If the sun is at high noon, the bimini works. After noon, with the canvas up so high, the sun comes in the side. Non starter. <My guess is that the high retractable shade will provide minimal, if any, shading.
I solved the problem by designing my own "shade". It mounts to the side of the bimini. Either side, or front or back, as the direction of the sun dictates. The fabric matches the bimini.
Obviously, if shading while on plane is the object, this would not be ideal.
