Hello!
Recently purchased Cascade 19. Noticed it was very very tough to bring from reverse through to neutral and on to forward. After much tinkering find the shift cable is at fault.
Change the shift cable, in the process of testing and tightening when all of a sudden the stern-drive jumps up in reverse
. The retaining pawl isn't locking to the bar. The reverse locking pin, it's moved I guess, but try as I might I cannot get it to lock. Trouble is I cannot for the life of me figure out how the locking pin should sit and work. i'e how it braces the retaining pawl.
The manual is kinda hazy on the subject, at least I can't figure out the exploded diagram.
Anyone know what could causing it not to lock?
