Hey World, I recently purchased a small sloop.I have some paperwork that identifies her as a Slipper 17, but that is all. If anyone knows anything about this little boat I sure would appreciate it.I have already started replacing the sole, as it was rotted through. All the britework has either been redone or replaced. My next progect is to glass the hull deck joint. As it sits now it is pop riveted with a plastic rub-rail whis is missing in certain sections.(Replacement suggestions?).One last thing, my forestay plate is bent and a mess. Anyone have any ideas. I love this little boat and w/ L/B ratio of 2:1 it gives her a nice jaunty sheer.Well will get back to y'all and keep appraisedof any developements. :p Going to try posting some pictures.

I think those slippers were built over your way back in the 80s.

Different size & profiles of rubrails are available lots of places. I'm not familiar w/ Slipper, but you could always remove the rivets, then rebed the hull/deck joint in 5200 & then through bolt to create a leakproof & extra strong bond. Or maybe just replace rivets w/ SS bolts & caulk on inside.<br />Try to find a marina that was a dealer if possible. They may have a stock of old parts. If not someone should be able to fabricate the forestay plate.
