It is time to change the plugs for the first time in a newly aquired rebuilt engine. The engine is a 1989 130 yamaha. The sticker under the cowling calls for B9HS-10 plugs. I went to local yamaha shop and they gave BR8HS-10 plugs. When I realized these weren't the right plugs I exchanged them for the proper ones. The question is this would it hurt me to use BR9HS-10 plugs in place of B9HS-10?

The worst thing that will happen is you pick up static in the radio.

actually changing to an R plug will lessen radio interference.
BR is a perfectly acceptable replacement.
the -10 only indicates it was supposedly pre gapped.
always double check.
