I've been reading up on the process of installing my engine back into my boat after Ive rebuilt the transom and the motor mounts. Can I assume that using the front lifting eye on the engine will balance the engine side to side so I can adjust thefront motor mounts equally up and down? so I know for sure the engine is level so to speak side to side? Because I dont know for sure that my mounts in the boat are exactly the same height. Im guessing that by setting the rear on the transom plate mounts that that will determine the cant side to side so as long as I keep the 2 front motor mounts adjusted the same it should be ok till I align it for the outdrive spline...

Yes, once the rear mounts are bolted down the engine will be level in relation to the inner transom plate. So if you put the plate in the correct spot and made it level you should be able to get your horizontal and vertical adjustment fine tuned that way.
