i know its the wrong forum, but had to share with the omc guys.
off work today and went for a drive to get out of the house, came across a 1968 ( i believe) evinrude mate at the end of a driveway with a for sale sign on it. wasnt really interested, but the motor was in great shape and if the price was right ...maybe. well the price was wrong at $150. while i was talking to the seller i noticed a 50's era johnson leg and lu peaking out from behind a shed 50 yards away. asked about it and the gent said it was an old motor he was gunna scrap. asked if i could have a look, and he said sure. this is what it was! and he was going to separate the aluminum from the steel with a sledge hammer!! he figured he could get $30 or $40 bucks for scrap, i had three $20's in my pocket....its now rescued!
not seized, feels like great compression ( will test tho) and is 100% complete.
