I repowered my Rib from a 2 stroke 92 Merc 4 cylinder 40 hp to a Honda BF 50. The Merc had 12 pole tach output and the Honda has a 6 pole. Current Tach is a Faria 2-2 1/8 gauge and I do not have room for the Honda 3 1/8 gauge. Anyone make a black box tach calibrator? Something that would turn 6 pulses into 12 for each rev. Or does someone know who makes a small white face tach that will work on the 6 pole 2005 Honda BF50

Also I ran the Merc 14" cupped prop today and got about the same speed as the Merc, that is 41.5 with two people at 6000 RPMs. I think I would like to get a Honda prop. The Merc is cupped so maybe a 15" Honda prop???? The Honda 13 inch that I got with the boat, motor and trailer for 4K seems to have more blade area, but little or no cup. The Merc is going on the old 1968 Bellboy 15'er for a crabbing boat.

OK, I gave up on the Faria tach and mounted the Honda black face tach. Anyone want to trade their white face BF40/50 tach without hour meter for a black one? SNOKING
