There are a number of performance parts for the 302 from mild to wild. Is yours carbed or fuel injected?

I was thinking similar bondo. The 302 is a good motor. Mine shoves my 19' at about 45, but I don't know how she would handle a 24'. A 351 should be an easy fit.

All similar to discussions about the GM 305 vs the 350 -- probably because the 302 and 351 have similar small block characteristics?

In the '70s, I had a '69 Mustang with a 351 Cleveland. I believe I was told at the time that the Cleveland had more horsepower than the Windsor 351. If that is the case, maybe you should consider a Cleveland? Of course, it might be that the Cleveland is a wholly different animal and wouldn't work at all (big block version?)....

I did what these guys are talking about. Went through 5 (very wild) 302's in three seasons. It got old the third time around. Know how you say "if I ever rebuilt it again I would do this instead of that and add this and so on",well I ran out of changes after number three. There was no great change or upgrade to inspire a the following rebuilds. It just became like work. Finally I had enough a found a junk yard 351W and built it from scratch. No more problems. It says something about that longer stroke. The only problem is finding them. I called about 15 junk yards and came up with one but it was worth it.
p.s. The only thing that does not interchange is the intake. Everything else bolts to the same place.
