I posted this in beginning of August, but did not get any answers. Maybe it was bad month to post it, maybe this time someone could help me. I am still stuck at 2500 RPM...
thank you.

Hello,
this year I have bought used but refurbished 1993 two stroke Ceto 115HP Yamaha outboard. It was running like charm for first 10 hours, but after this problems started. On the trip something happened in cruising speed, like stroke, and it went from 4000 rpm to 2000 rpm. No matter what I did it wont go more than 2200 rpm. And after 5 minutes it miraculously went back to normal operations. As I had about 50 liters of last years of gasoline (4% mixture from my dead yammy 80 hp) in the tank, I just poured 50 liters of new gasoline inside. I presumed that this happened as old mixture has clogged the carburetors and I asked our yamaha technician to clean them. They cleaned it and have said that they were dirty. We went to new trip and after 15 minutes the same thing happened, but it did not went above 3500 rpm this time. I suspected that this was the same issue as last time, and poured new 30 litres of new gasoline inside. Tried the motor at full speed- after few bad starts (the engine died as I pull the stick all the way forward) it started well and I have driven it at 5800 rpm for few minutes. We went on with the trip, and pulling the water tubes with the boat and have fun for one hour all without any issues. On our trip back the buzzer on tachometer went nuts, the empty and full pump icons were flashing together. I stopped the engine to idle, open the engine, and checked the oil tank, it was full. After this it did not go more than 3200 rpm.
I went to Yamaha technician again, he opened and cleaned carbs again, and after this I went home (10 minutes away) with full speed. Next morning it went to 4800 for one minute and to no more than 3000 after this first minute. And this time it stayed this way. The technician has cleaned the carbs again, changed the sparks, we changed the fuel tank, checked the fuel pump (it is ok) checked the thermostats (they are good) and it still goes the same, no- it is worse as it goes slower every day. Now it goes at 3500 max for 20 seconds, and it goes to 2300 max after this. We went to trip yesterday, it was the same- 20 seconds at 3000 and one hour at 2000 rpm. Our technician is lost, he has replaced the big electronics unit on the back of the machine, cleaned fuel filter, but it is still the same. He says he do not have an answer to this. Can somebody help me here?
Kind regards and many thanks,
Bojan

need compression test on all cylinders,
test spark on all cylinders at idle and at problem RPMs.( timing light or measure voltage to coils or plugs, but you probably do not have the test equipment)
check timing at problem RPMs also(timing light)

If all is in spec then you have a fuel problem
