I have a quicksilver 3000 on my 96 larson with twin 5.7s and I can't stand the controller. Any suggestions on different brands/types? Adjustments haven't helped so next step is replacment

Quick question, you say "adjustments haven't helped", what is the issue that you are trying to adjust out? This may not be a control problem.

FWIW, there are Teleflex controls available here on iboats.

Re: Replacment shifter

I just got the boat and on the sea trial I was a bit discouraged with the stiffness and the amount of muscle to move the arms. Shop did some adjustments but the throttle kept crawling while moving. Any ideas?

Sounds like possibly the shift cable if the throttle moves and it is stiff. There is a tension adjustment underneath that control. I believe it is an allen screw. Tighter is, uh, well, tighter :) Anyway, you might want to follow the cables to where they go to the engine and then the drive. Look for kinks etc. There is nothing wrong with that "style" control though. I like it better than my current one, which is also a Merc . . .
