Haven't done this model and under the water pump and above the seals is this plastic/rubbery part. How do I get it out without buggering it up and if I do does it matter?

if I remember correctly, I ran 2 sheetrock screws into it and pried on those screws to pull it out on my C40TLRX and then bought a new one.
buying #30 gets you the housing, o ring, and both seals and is cheaper than buying them separately

Oh yeah those are lower drive shaft seals not water pump seals

Thanks 99, that's what I was afraid of, I already bought the seals and O ring thinking that housing could be re-used. Oh well, live and learn.

I was just getting ready to post asking if the seals go into that housing and you answered my question.

Oh, and I have a complaint. Why do they call it a water pump housing when part #21 is the real water pump housing. They should call it driveshaft seal housing or upper seals housing or something appropriate.
I'm going to file a complaint, a Formal complaint. Let's see, what did I do with the number for Helen Waite ...

have a look at #30 prices, $23.49 gets it all
the housing by itself is $35, seals 6.75 each and Oring $5.40
I thought that was a miss print when I 1st ran into this on mine

and you do not have to figure out how deep to seat the seals
