The mechanic has pulled the outdrive on our old '89 OMC Cobra 5.0L......The u-jnt is bad. Looking at it there's only ONE ZERK  ......I've ordered a replacement from iboats (not the entire assembly, just the "cross-like-thing", $30).

Question: How's both halves of the u-jnt get lubricated with only one zerk?

There are 2 ujoints in each assembly. Each one has it's own grease zirk. Perhaps one got broke off, or some previous owner only replace one ujoint (not a good thing)

I started this thread, and just remember an earlier discussion about the frequency of greasing U-Joints. Some folks their u-joints had no zerks.
