Hello All; I have Sunbird 1987, 18ft Eurosport I, merc 3.7L, 1987, 165hp, 4cyc. with the alpha one drive.

Why I think I need to replace the trim limiting switch.: I figured out that my Trim Limiting Switch was faulty with I placed the outdrive in the full down position and checked for continunity on the Limiting Switch. I did not attain continunity. My outdrive was tilting up but not triming up. I placed a jumper wire in place of the trim limiting switch and I was able to trim the outdrive up.

I just had a quick through, my trim gauge also does not work, I would guess the trim gauge and the trim limiting switch are on the same circuit. Could I have another problem besides the trim limiting switch? Maybe my ground?

So to my question. Do I have to pulled the outdrive off to replace the switches? Does anyone how of an easier way to replace the switches.

Thanks In Advance,
Shawn
