Ok, I've found the thermostat part I need now here are my questions:

1.) Does the old thermostat just "pop out" and you pop the new one in? Or is there more involved?
2.) I'm planning on buying new gaskets, should I use some type of sealant on the gaskets or not?
3.) Any "gotchas" or other tips/hints I should be aware of?

Thanks!!!

Ayuh,............. Sort of...........

The T-Stat housingis usually a multi-piece affair with several Gaskets, Sensors,+ Hoses........

Well,.......
A Well Cleaned gasket surface on the pieces is usually All that's needed.......
But,......
If there's been Rust,+ Corrosion,..... Some form of Sealer is used, instead of New pieces......

Which brings Us to #3,..........

Some of the Gaskets have a little bitty brass rivet in them to conduct the ground path for any Sensors that are mounted in the T-Stat Housing.........
Sometimes the use of Sealers inhibits this ground path,...... So care much be taken in using Sealants........
