Replacing shiftcable on Volvo Penta

Hi <br />I need to replace the shiftcable on my Volvo Penta DP-A and would like to know if I after pulling the drive just can pul the cable from inside and push a new cable through the rubberhose from inside or is it necessary to disconnect the rubberhose from the transom ?

You don't need to pull the drive, or disconnect the hose. You can push the new cable back down into the hose from inside the boat, just have someone on the outside guide it into the drive so you don't poke it through the bellows.
