I bought a 1977 maybe 76 115 lots of rusty bolts. I have already got the powerhead , midsection and lower unit off after a day of drilling and chiseling bolts. The tilt and trim area is going to be a monster. What type of bolts should I use to replace all these bolts. And no I am not going to buy bolts from the Johnson dealer at 6 or 8 dollars a piece. I like the idea of using stainless steel but I know mixing certain metals on an outboard can be a bad idea.
