I have and old and "huge" quicksilver controls in my boat. the question i have is trying to replace it with a different one. can i use pretty much any set of controls? I have a 7 pin harness on a 1978 merc 1150, i know you can get adapters. but could I just make my own harness, and say use controls from a 2003 mercury for example instead? if not what are the newest controls i could probablt use.
