Hey out there,
Question about repowering. I am in the finishing phases of restoring a 15' tri-hull bowrider and I'm wondering how much of an issue the extra weight of the new 4 strokes are. The boat has had a 75hp two stroke Suzuki its entire life (30+ years). The current motor weighs 250lbs but new ones weigh 400+. Is this a problem? How have all of you dealt with this?

Thanks

Put the boat in the water and stand in the stern near the current motor and see how it looks. Sometimes it's a problem and some times it's not.

That's a pretty big weight difference on only a 15'.
