Hi... I recently purchased a new Minn Kota Terrova trolling motor to replace the existing Motorguide on my 2008 Bass Tracker 175 TWX. However when trying to install the new motor the mounting plate on the Minn Kota is much smaller than the Motorguide, so the screw holes dont match. Then when trying to look at drilling new holes the front mounting screws are over directly over the gunnell, which I dont want to drill into. The shaft of the motor needs at least one and half inches of clearance from side of boat but the screw holes dont allow for proper installation. I have looked from some type of custom mouting plate but cant locate anything. Any suggestions out there ???

I made an adapter plate out of ?" aluminum once. Also mine is held on with just 5 bolts and I've never had any problems.
