Replacing Merc with Johnson

My fishing partner has a 16 ft Bass Tracker with a 25 HP Merc on it. Electric start and choke and remote steering. We have a Johnson 9.9 electric start that we are considering replacing the Merc with so we can fish lakes with motor restrictions. What all would have to be replaced to do this? I assume we would need Johnson controls. What about the steering cable? Would anything have to be replaced on it? The Johnson is tiller controlled so I guess something would have to be changed there for throttle control. Anything else that I'm forgetting? Thanks

The steering should not be an issue.

Does the 9.9 have mounts for cables (gear/throttle)? Yes, you will need Johnson controls if it is an electric start.

I'll have to look at that a little closer and see whats left when I take the tiller off.
