just got my manual today and am ready to
tackle my first engine maint., installing
a new impeller. once lower unit is off are there
any recommendations re: testing the water
exhuast holes? can't find anywhere in the manual
that explains how much water is supposed to pee out and where it exits from. anyone have any
pointers for a mechanic in traning? any tricks
you can pass on for this job on this motor?
thanks in advance :)

What I do is put the lower unit into a vice (Wraped in cloth) and while I am putting the new impeller into the housing, I turn the drive shaft so that the veins of the impeller are all in the correct position.

There is a small tube on the right (Starboard) side of the engine in the back just above the lower cowling and under the handle like band (which is under the cowling). Water should exit there in a steady stream a few seconds after starting.

Have a great time doing this. I enjoy it.

Craig
