I am doing the first 100 hour service to my Mercruiser 5.0 L MPI

I cant find a dealer in Mexico to buy the IAC Muffler.

Any comercial alternative you suggest? How about just cleaning it?

Thanks in advance guys

It's just foam block so I would not use anything that could eat it up or deteriorate the material.

If you need to clean it and can't get one straight away, then just blow it clean gently with compressed air....

To the left is a IAC Muffler in service for 30 hours. To the right is the replacement.

I looks like in 100 hours I wont have a filter any more. hahahahah.

My engine has the filter outside the throttle body, between the iac and the flame arrestor. I think the model change. It is more like a rectangle, note a cube.

Anyways, I will order a couple (one spare, It will take at least 2 weeks in get in here) and I will clean the existing in the mid time.

Thanks guys for your answers.

Yes starting with serial number 0W650000 THRU 1A299999 and up on the 5.0 MPI's, the mufflers became known as filters and are located in a different area under the IAC motor assembly. Item # 12, http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show...12840&bnbr=82&bdesc=Throttle+Body(Mechanical)

Digital throttle and shift's do not utilize an IAC or muffle/filter.
