Replacing hull inserts on Kawasaki

I have a 1995 Kawasaki SS XI that I need to work on the underside of the hull. I need to replace a couple of the hull inserts that hold on the ride plate that were pulled out while someone used the ride plate as a step to get on the machine.
So... I'm thinking I want to turn the PWC upside down for ease of work but I not sure exactly what I need to do. I'm assuming I'll need empty the gas and oil (or do I ?) and remove the battery would that be it?

Is there anything else I need to do?

As for the process, I have purchaced replacement hull inserts (Watercraft Werks #54-7900) that I need to epoxy in. I was just going to the local marine supply store and get some good liquid expoxy to seal them into the existing cavities for them, there is no hull breach so water getting in is not an issue the inserts were just pulled out. Is liquid expoxy the best product to use or does anyone know of something better out there like those putty epoxy sticks that would work better? I was thinking if I used the putty then I wouldn't need to flip the PWC upside down to work on it but I'm not sure if it would be strong enough.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks,
Jeff
