I am restoring an 18 ft, 1974 IMP, 225S, Ford302. When removing one of the lower anode bolts by driving it out with a hammer and rod, the side of the hole (about 1/4" thick) in the wood toward the drive opening tore out. The rest of the transom appears to be in good condition, and the outer hull did not tear. My question is will the new bolt be OK with the inner and outer transom assemblies bearing on the remaining wood transom, or should I rebuild that part of the opening and re-drill the hole?
