Replacing fenders

I have a 4x8' utility trailer and the fenders are rotting through after 12 years. Current fenders are welded on & I want to replace them. I figure on removing the old ones by cutting them off with a saws-all.

All the metal replacement fenders I've looked at online look like weld-on also, which I don't want to go to the trouble of having someone do. And with the plastic ones, it's hard to tell how they would bolt on or attach. How can you be sure the plastic ones will mate up with the frame for attachment after you cut off the old ones?

Current fenders are 27 long x 9.5 high x 7 wide over 12" tires.

Re: Replacing fenders

My car hauler had removeable fenders that slid in placed and you tightend the carrage bolt to hold them to the frame, system worked out great and allowed me to haul over width items. It looks like you could do something like that if the back replacement fenders have a way of mounting to the frame and bolting in. Those fenders dont look too rotted out...

Just my thought. :)

Re: Replacing fenders

You're right, the one shown here is just starting to break through along the top inner area, but the one on the other side has lots of small holes in it and has large paper-thin areas on it.
