I recently bought a new CDI with coil for my 70 hp Chrysler. I am unsure of the year of the motor, but it is model number 706HD, serial number 4159.

The part I replaced was part number 6CB2003, serial number 8300. It was replaced with a CDI aftermarket part number 115-3301.

My question is, the new ignition has red, white, and blue wires that come from the box and go to the wire harness. The old ignition had only the white and the blue. What do I do with the red wire? Since the new ignition replaces more than one old Chryler ignition, I am thinking that I don't need the red wire at all, but would like to make sure before hooking it up and damaging it. Thanks in advance for any help.
