Replacing captain's chair on Hurricane 2009 Sundeck Sport

I purchased my boat year before last from a private party. It came with a stock captain's chair, but the previous owner has included an extra wide captain's chair. Has anyone swapped out the seats before? The fiberglass below the seat does not line up with the extra wide. Any suggestions?

I don't have a similar situation (mine are pedestal, swivel type)

My guess however is that if you remove the existing one, you'll need to replace the seat mount with an after market such as this

Then you can add the larger seat, and the older mount still exists (I'm assuming its mounted directly into the fiberglass) for changing back if you choose to.

My 2012 SD237 came standard with the wide seat you took a picture of. The molded-in pedestal the seat sits on looks similar to what is on your boat. The seat is wider than the platform and you must widen it in order to attach the seat. I went to the lake yesterday and took some pictures of how they installed the seat. It looks like they added some plastic strips (maybe StarBoard?) to extend the platform to match where the sliding seat brackets are located on the seat bottom. It?s not extended very much, just enough to give the left side seat slide bracket a place to anchor and attach. They used another piece of the same material under the right bracket to level out the seat. I would have probably used a full sheet of Starboard material rather than strips if I had done the install. I don?t know what they used to attach/anchor the strips to the base, but the seat does feel very sturdy in place. My wide ?seat? also appreciates the wider seat; it?s very comfortable and no other boat I looked at offered one like this. You might like it as much as I do. The pictures came from my phone, so I?ll apologize for the quality, but I hope they?ll help you get an idea on how to install it.

Good luck!
