1988 bayliner 230B engine and a 270 sp out drive
I am replacing u joints and the bearings on the inside of the bell housing I have a volvo shop manual but it does not give the steps for this replacement while it is in the boat. do i need to just jar the motor enough to pop the plate between the engine and out drive to get the bearings out.I was also considering the gimble bearing while it was appart if that is not to much of a job can this also be reached threw the back of the out drive as well. also i saw special tool numbers are those a must.
thanks
