I've got the 2000 50hp 2T TLDI and also the Tohatsu manual, but would like to confirm before I dive in - to replace the air compressor belt, I think I need to pull the whole magneto assembly, consisting of the flywheel, alternator, and raise the coil bracket to slip the belt in. Seems like a royal pain and needs a special tool to pull the flywheel, but that's how I read it...any comments appreciated...

In my experience, it's best to follow the procedures in the Factory service manual.

Yep, it takes about 15 minutes with the right tools if you follow the procedure in the manual....About 14 minutes if you skip the special flywheel removal tool and just use a hammer.

Caution*******Beware the hammer as tapping the the nut too hard can result is a:

BAD THING
