The iboats forum moderators are excited to announce that at this time it appears the iboats forums posting pictures function is working once again. Though we cannot promise for how long, we're hoping for indefinitely.
Don S is right. If you mean the USCG cap plates... they did not become a standard/requirement until 72. I have a 66 Starcraft Holiday and did not find any. Couldn't even find a hull number. The calculation given by the CG is Boat length in feet X beam in feet divided by: 15. That is the guidelines for number of persons aboard. You will find it is far more than you ever would (if you use your head) ever carry. I have been questioned several times during inspections and it did impress a few inspectors when I swiftly calculated out the (using the CG formula) the boat capacity. It's getting to the point that my boat is older than most inspectors!! The code clearly states "applicable to boats MANUFACTURED" after 1972. Save yourself $30 and spend it on another safety item.
