replacement outdrives

I need to replace my upper and lower outdrives. The boat is a 1986 Larson. It originally had a MMR motor. I forget the Mercruiser number, but it was a 305 CI. I replaced that with a 350 ci engine and kept the same outdrive. I need to replace the complete outdrive now. How do I determine what gear ratio and yoke length I need? I am thinking on going with an SEI unit.

Ayuh,... You need an Alpha 1, with 1.5:1 gears...

Only the very old In-line motors used the shorter input shaft...
