Replacement oil / fuel mixer?

I have an old 1987 Mercury Black Max 200 h.p. outboard motor. One of the previous owners had removed the oil mixing tank and system off of the engine for putting two-stroke oil into the fuel. So I have to pre-mix the oil in the gas tank the old fashioned way. I had heard from several people it was probably removed because these older oil mixing units failed frequently and usually burned up the engine in the process. I was wondering if anyone knows of a "reliable" aftermarket two-stroke oil addition system that I can bolt on to my boat and have it feed oil into the fuel stream to the motor as it runs. I could probably order all the old parts and get the original Mercury system back up and online but I think that would be overly expensive. Otherwise I'll just keep pre-mixing my fuel which is fine, it just smokes a lot when I'm idling until I get my boat up to speed and it would be nice if it didn't. Any suggestions? Thanks

Re: Replacement oil / fuel mixer?

there is a company making an electronic mixer similar to autoblend just for the V mercs due to the high cost of replacing the nylon oil pump drive gear that was/is failure prone.<br /> never used one but I see them occasionally.
