Replacement fuel line for OMC remote tank

Just bought a replacement fuel line to replace one that seems to be "dissolving" which is probably the ethanol/old rubber issue.
It was at least 20 years old, so owed me nothing.

I have always had OEM lines which had the primer bulb within about 6"-8" of the tank.
This one has the bulb about 2/3 of the way along and closer to the motor end.

Absolutely no importance in my application, but as a matter of curiousity, any particular reason that they made this change?

Don't know that here is a reason, probably just where they wanted to put it.

Bulb placement isn't really important as long as it is there somewhere and works.

I have run them at the tank and at the motor and never noticed a difference either way.
