I noticed my outdrive on my 73 165 Mercruiser had a split exhaust bellows so I picked a new one up and replaced the bad one today. It wasn't hard to get the end on the bellhousing on but the other end was quite a headache. I'm pretty dexterious from working with my hands as a machinist for 30 years but it was still tough. The bad one was stretched out about twice the length of the replacement.
Got er fixed though.
Also, I replaced my Mercruiser 13.75" x 21 " pitch SS prop with a Michigan Wheel Vortex 14.5" x 19" pitch I purchased through iboats.com to try to get my WOT rpms up to 3900-4300 from the previous 3500 with 4 adults on board. My normal load will be 2 adults so it should be close to being dead on.
