Replace Water Seal? BF8

While replacing the impeller, I noticed that the gasket material on top of the water seal was coming off so I removed it. Should I replace the water seal all together? The SELOC manual is silent on the issue. If so, how? I imagine it takes a special tool.

Not unless its leaking, if the gear oil does not have any water in it i would lead it alone. If your still unsure a pressure test would confirm its integrity.
