Replace steering wheel?

Thinking about swapping the steering wheel for a larger one sold at auto zone. Y'all think it is doable? The larger wheel should make it easier to steer this thing.

Sure it is doable. why is it hard to steer? I have a large stainless steering wheel I would like to replace with a smaller one.
has any one done this?

Ayuh,.... Generally speakin', boat steerin' wheels are a 3/4" tapered bore....

Automotive steerin' wheels, Ain't....

So long as you match the hub to the shaft, you can mount 'bout any wheel ya want....

Grant makes specific mounting hardware for marine applications. While Bond-o is 100% correct on the tapered shaft, most steering wheel mounting kits use a 3 hole adapter for steering wheel. http://grantproducts.com/products/browse/installation-kits/marine/

I replaced my factory wheel (black 3 spoke classic) with the GT Rally just buy purchasing a adapter kit (not installation kit...you may need one/other or both)

Also, be sure and use stainless steel bolts, nut, etc...as they will rust.

Not really up on the jet boats or PWC's But a quick question.
Is there a steering fin on the bottom of the jet pump or nozzle?
I see on the 90 Sportjet there is a zinc(very bottom) that looks like a fin#23 see pic..
Is the fin adjustable.If so then try adjusting that to help with the hard steering?????
If it pulls hard to the right then move it to the right.
I might be way off but !!!!

Does it steer hard when out of the water?

No fins just the anode. Only hard to steer when in water and running but from what I've read this is normal for this type of boat.

Is the anode adjustable,in the pic I see it has a fin on the bottom???
Cobrsjet:That's basically what I was talking about. Outboards have an adjustable fin.This might work.

Looked up my Sportjet C/D and saw there is an adjustment on the bottom.
What motor/jet do you have?
