IMG_7462.jpegSo I have my 2005 engine for a new flywheel and Im deciding whether or not to replace the coupler as well while it’s out. I have no coupler issues and visually it looks fine. Engine has 250hrs. Should I replace or leave alone?

Leave it alone. Probably last another 20 years if the alignment is good.

why did the flywheel need replacing ?

The coupler if alignment is maintained, it will last longer then the boat.

Went to start it last week and popped a gear tooth. Not sure why, but new oem starter & flywheel going in

that should clean up OK. Ran worse on many cars back in the day. Make sure the starter is properly shimmed, and that wont happen.

Chisel or cut the old ring gear off , heat new ring up in the oven it will drop on the flywheel and make a friction fit when cool.

i would send that flywheel back unless the ebay add specified some teeth are buggered
