I have a 2001 40 hp mercury 2 cylinder that was not firing on #1. I took it to a recommended repair shop on a Tuesday and was told we'll have it by the weekend. After a calling wednesday " we'll look at it tomarrow and call" called again Thursday at close "misdiagnosed rev limiter" and after consult with Mercury support decided it was stator or trigger parts won't be in till Mon _tues. Called Thursday and new diagnosis of mvd module. I had swapped out the modules for each other and still didn't get any spark on #1 so I thought modules were good. I told them this. Does this sound right or am I getting the run around...
