i just bought a new prop here from iboats.com because i had a spun hub. Everything is ready to install but I can't get the space washer out of the old prop. I called a boat place to see if they could do it and he told me over the phone, just to tap it with a hammer on one side. Then I went to Bass pro shop and they couldn't help me. So I tapped it on one side and it had come up a bit on one side but I can't get it out. Any recommendations?

If you're talking about the thrust bushing (between the prop and the prop shaft housing == some models are brass, others are aluminum)... and if it's corroded-in and stuck... yes, patience and tapping (firmly) may pop it loose. OTOH, Tohatsu sells a complete prop nut kit with the brass nut, stainless washer, thrust bushing, and cotter pin, for low cost. What model is the motor?
