Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice/help on an issue I have trying to remove my trim cylinders.

98 Volvo dp-sm which was the OMC combo year.

My trim cylinder is leaking so I have some new (used) ones to install.

The old came right off as I have had my drive off many times to grease the u-joints

However - on both sides the rear flare nut is stuck and stripped. Front nuts came off no issue.

I have tried heat, penetrating oil sitting for days/weeks, vice grips and notta.

The nuts at the top of the line in the housing look great but getting to those with a wrench has proven near impossible but I’m probably doing something wrong.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

I am completely ok if the old cylinders get damaged. I would just cut the line and get new lines but I can’t get to the top nut in the manifold.

Attached picture for reference.

Thanks for any help!

Ayuh,...... Welcome Aboard,...... Cut the lines, 'n use a 6-point socket, or end-wrench, whichever works,....

Thanks I was hoping for that to be a last resort but may have to. The part I’m struggling with is those top bolts behind the bell housing/transom assembly. I have not looked how to take that off if it is difficult or not. Because if that from section behind the outdrive comes off easily, the top hydraulic line fitting will be easy to reach/get a wrench on.
