Is there any harm in removing the tell tale fitting in the cowling of my BF50A?
My Honda is the 50/35 Jet and all it takes is one slurp of silt in the jet to clog the fitting in the tell tale. Then I need to clean a column of silt out of the hose, which is a real pain.
By removing the fitting (having the hose loose so that it pees without the final restriction at the cowling) the hose doesn't get clogged. However, I wonder if there needs to be some back pressure on the tell tale to permit proper cooling.
Someone told me that the tell tale is at the end of the cooling circuit, so removing the fitting would not compromise the cooling.
What say you?
Thanks in advance.
