Re: removing power trim motor?

I was able to take the PTT unit off my '93 Merc 135HPV6, w/o removing the motor from the boat. It had 4 bolts holding it and a pin. I had to take one of the transom brackets off and put a block between the motor and the transom. Then I could get at it.

Re: removing power trim motor?

Im guessing you have a 3 ram TnT unit.If its just the Motor to be replaced you will have to remove transom bracket from the starboard side only. Then you will be able to remove 2 bolts and remove motor.
Good luck with the transom. It took me days to get mine off as it was seized on...P.Owner didnt believe in grease.
Dont forget to clamp/support starboard side of motor before removing transom bracket.
