In the process of re-bedding most if not all of the attachments to the hull. How do I remove silicone type adhesives stuck to hull?<br />Thanks.

Single edge razor & then a solvent like acetone.

Re: Removing old sealer/adhesive/silicone

I did this job on windows on my boat and found that the store bought caulk remover will do..ok..where the caulk is thin. Several applications and scrapings will gradually reduce the thickness of silicone. I used a 2" sharp chisel with good success in paring, using a slicing motion, the thick parts away, too. For finishing up I bought a brown "scrubby pad" on a mandrel for about 7 bucks in a hardware/paint store and with careful control it cleaned it up nicely. My windows were LOADED with silicone but looked like pic when cleaned up.

I've used plain old rubbing alcohol and terrycloth to remove traces of silicone caulk after scraping the bulk of it off with a razor blade.
