Removing old gasket 93' 200Hp Yami

After removing the heads the surface of the block is rough. Any suggestions on cleaning and removing old gasket material?

I use the 3M pads on a drill, DO NOT use a steel wire brush,especially in salt water areas.

Rod,
I use the 3m pads you recomended with a die grinder and they worked great. Created a nice surface for the head to bolt to. The cover did not apper to be square so I used some RED RTV to help them seat better. Torqued head bolts to 22 lbs and 5.5 for the covers.

Tomorrow it goes in the water....
